    Nearly out the door

Deer rifle season opens tomorrow at noon so we are heading back to the farm tonight. Going to hit my wife's hometown for a steak supper then heading to the folks' place for the remainder of the weekend's hunt.

Don't know about the rest of you but the anticipation of the deer opener is my Christmas morning.

Have fun and stay safe all.

Opens at noon???? Yet another odd game law out there.

Good luck to the Bwana clan!

I was wondering the same thing. Wonder why the noon start? That wouldn't work here. They don't call us Sooners for nuthin'.

We have a Noon Opener for dove, in fact the whole first half of the season is Noon to dark, but otherwise nothing weird like that. I think John said once why it was, but I don't recall the explanation.

Niner, "odd" is a synonym for North Dakota.

Given the low deer numbers the missus decided not to look a gift buck in the mouth yesterday afternoon. The 7-08 barked and it was lights out, DRT. Total distance trailed = 0 yards.

As I have now been sitting here in 30 degree weather & 30 mph wind for 2.5 hours I am beginning to think it's twin brother would have been equally tasty.

The view from my current location.
