    Kill a bigun' Eddie.
I'm in a stand too and if I had a machine gun I could have my limit of squirrels, but no Bambi's yet.

Go get em Eddie. Looks like my season is over, we've got nearly 24 inches of rain over the last six weeks and my entire lease is flooded waist deep and we're supposed to get another 4 to 6 inches before thanksgiving.

I'm home this AM, 17 degrees, strong wind and blowing snow, any smart deer is hunkered down under some pine tree.
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

    Glub. Glub.

    Duck hunters happy.

I've seen two deer in 10 days. Going back to farm tomorrow. Ice storm coming tomorrow night.

Can't hear deer for the geese. Geez.

P.S ladybug migration was last week here. Elebben gazillion. Riding a four wheeler was fun!

PSS did u start deer hunting when you were about six? I was in college before I knew what it was. I thought hunting meant quail.

Yep, Bucky, I made my first real opening day hunt with my Dad, when I was 5 yrs. old.
We hunted off horses, back then.
I rode a shetland pony named Tony.
    Mean little biting bastard.

Haha, Cap, you got that right....we had 3 of the little munchkins, and they were ALL biters.

Ole Tony would wait until I had my left foot in the stirrup, getting ready to swing my other leg over the saddle, then he'd reach around, and bite me in the azz.

When I was youngin' we had a Shetland that was a real horses ass about biting, We had a full time horse trainer that worked our horses in those days, He saw that pony take a pretty good bite on my arm one day and told me to go in the house and tell my Mamma to put a potato in the oven and bake it. I don't remember how long it was that he sent me back in the house to get that tater but I carried it out to the barn in a oven mit. Blane took that glove an tater and when the Pony turned to bite him he shoved that tater as far in that pony's mouth as he could. When that Shetland bit, he broke in-to! You know a horse cannot throw up or spit so all that hot tater was smashed in his mouth and he could not get rid of it. One thing for sure that pony never bit another person as far as I know from that day on.
I learned that lesson that day and I was prolly only seven or eight years old, but I've used that trick since then and will never forget it. it's the best cure for a biting Horse/Pony I've ever seen

Jb, you are letting a measly 17 degrees bother you? Hell it was -17 here this morning and that is no lie.

Actually, it was in the mid-80's yesterday and not a cloud in the sky ... a beautiful day for estate sales!

BUT ... a cold front is coming through today and the high is expected to be 70, but back up to 80 on Tuesday and then ANOTHER frigging cold front ... down to 68 on Thursday, then Winter is here and we'll be in the low to mid-70's the rest of the week.

Carni and I went out yesterday here in WV. It was 10 degrees. Didn't see anything all day. Didn't even hear any shots nearby until evening. Then Carni got one nice big fat doe on the way back up to the cabin. I shoulda had one but....

36f and raining outside my office right now. I think I'd prefer 10f. In fact, I know I would. At least I brought my lunch and don't have to go out.
