I went to Chesterfield for lunch yesterday and my truck said 81. There is just something not Christian about seeing Christmas lights/Trees and it 80 degrees.
I went to my stand this morning in a short sleeve shirt. I was there about an hour and thought I heard a low flying military plane coming across the pasture. It's was not a plane it was WIND I thought it was gonna blow the stand over with me in it! The temps dropped 10 degrees in minutes. I liked to froze to death before I could walk back to the truck. I've never seen temps drop that fast.

It's so cold, I had to run hot water on my bedonka, to get it un-rolled.

Of course you had to know this was coming.

    Cold there??

I spent 3+ hours muzzleloader hunting on Saturday morning. It was -22 when I left the pickup but had warmed up to a balmy -20 by the time I got back. Easy to keep warm as long as you are moving. Went out again yesterday afternoon and sat for a bit over 1.5 hours at -12 degrees but have to admit the whole not moving around thing makes for a different ballgame and I will admit I was COLD.

BTW, John, I see you're losing your football coach to Wyoming.

Yeah, that really sucks as I am sure he will take many of the other coaches with him as well. Pretty tough to fault him though as it sounds like he will be instantly doubling his salary with the chance of almost quadrupling it. Just hope the announcement doesn't affect the team's playoff performance.

Bwana you make me think your judgement is bad, or perhaps your brain froze. I would have no way of knowing if a modern gun much less a muzzleloader would even fire at -22 degrees. And I hope I never find out.
It was 26 this morning when I got into the stand and I was huddled over my buddy heater like a monkey f€#king a football....

Modern rifles fire no problem as long as the firing pin isn't all greased up.

As for blackpowder guns, I have no idea but then again it really wasn't a problem as all I could locate were does.

As usual, the weatherman lied. It was supposed to be 81 here today ... BUT, it was 84. Instead of bikini weather ... we're having itsy-bitsy, teeny-weenie bikini weather!
