In the spirit of "transparency" ...

... it's time I posted the G/H Ledger for the end of 2013.

As long as we have no more disasters (Foo/Co9 have closed some previously open doors, so we "should" be ok) ... we should have enough in the kitty to get us through the year. Our domain renewal/site hosting expenses will be coming up in July of this year, but unless there's a drastic increase in charges, we will have that covered. You guys did a GREAT job of coming through with donations to get this place up and running, as well as to KEEP it running. Whether it's monetary donations or simply sticking with us and posting regularly, this place wouldn't exist without ALL of you. All the money in the world won't make a site successful without members who participate by posting their thoughts and views. Here's looking forward to many more years with the friendships that have been established with this little site. Congrats all!

Good Hunting Ledger as of 12/31/13

Go through your ledger Arty ... Check # 702 dated 5/5/12.

BTW dufe ... the numbers and donors are supposed to be anonymous.

Put an eyeball on your check stub and it'll be obvious.

The number will stay with you. Any future "repeat" donations will be added to the same donor number ... and new donors will be assigned additional numbers. The whole point is not to deny credit to the donors ... but to not make non-cash donors feel they aren't a part of this place. It's a fine balance and I honestly don't know what the best approach is, but a while back (during Helen's fund drive days) I had personal experience with a "lurker" who read daily, but VERY seldom posted because he felt he didn't deserve to participate because he couldn't afford to donate. So, it's a fine balance .. those who donate deserve to be recognized ... but there shouldn't be any embarrassment on the part of those who do not donate as long as they "donate" by posting. We'd be dead in the water without either donor type.

Listing the donor numbers in my ledger and PUBLISHING them here, also keeps me honest. If you don't see your number/donation amount on the ledger ... ummmm, screw you! Maybe I was short of cash when I received it.

Seriously, again, thank you and EVERYONE here for keeping this place alive ... through monetary donations and/or active posting. This site would fizzle and die without you worthless dufebutts.

    Great.

So my check for $614.35 just disappeared, huh?

The check itself "disappeared" when I cashed it ... the money disappeared when I SPENT it!
