Caller ID comes between the first and second ring. If you answer a "one ring" call, there is no Caller ID sent.

However, what the caller hears as ringing, is not the same sequence or timing as the actual ringing of the called set......."Ring tone" and "Ringback tone" are totally separate from each other. That's why sometimes you call someone and are surprised that they "answered before it rang". No, they didn't, they heard their Ring before you heard your Ringback. Plus, Ring is also a function of what type of set you have.

Before we bought The Farm, there had been a guy living there with a double wide trailer. He went bankrupt, and the trailer got gone long before we bought the place.

Several months after we bought it, we were down there working on the place one day....mowing or weedeating or something.
I look up and here comes a police officer down the driveway (which is a LONG way from the road).
He asked if there was any trouble because they'd gotten a 911 call from here.
We laughed and told him we don't have a phone line....well there IS a line, but it was buried someplace under the rubble from the trailer.
He laughed too, and said for us to have a good day.
