I can't tell you how much I consider this a trophy. I've targeted big bluegills most of my adult life and have 7 bluegill over 11" (one of them 11 7/8). That fish is a true "trophy"!

There's a lake right there in Bucky's home town (Lake Conway) that used to have some of the best hybrid red ear and bluegill fishing on the planet. They've tried their best to screw it up but I honestly haven't heard anything in the past few years if its recovered or not. It was also a crappie haven but I always went over there for the red ear. Catalpa worms were always my bait of choice for those.
