    Whew... She DID it!

    Bailey is the first athlete in her high school to be an all-state athlete all four years of high school. She qualified for the state championship meet with her relay team. She missed her individual event by 2/100ths of a second. I honestly did not think she was gonna make it this year. The cut times were ridiculous, nobody in the County had made the cut time. It had to be earned at one of two regional state meets held today.

    There were many things going against them and I honestly did not think she would make it. That girl left it all in the pool today and I'll be damned if her coaches mouth wasn't hanging open in disbelief with what they accomplished.

    I couldn't be more proud of her and more importantly happy for her!

    That may help out big time when she's looking a colleges. I'm sure there is a scholarship in there someplace.

    That is really a heck of an accomplishment! Congrats to her!!! She should be able to get some kind of scholarship dollars with that kind of takent. That is, IF the school she gets into has a swimming program.

    Serious question here....
    Have y'all considered the Olympic swimming competitions???

    We went down that road when she was younger. She wanted to see if it was a realistic goal for her. She joined a year round private swim club. She made Jr Olympic cut times on a regular basis. She was spending more hours in the pool than she wanted to. She started getting more injuries, something seemed to always be hurting and all the balance was gone from her life. It was swim, school and nothing else. She likes to read, to relax and has a handful of very close friends and family and I think losing all those things made her realize what was important to her.

    Personally, I'm glad she decided she wanted a more balanced life So is she!

    Pursuing High School swim on their level of competition was much better fit. She'll also be coaching and swimming with her summer swim team this summer which she absolutely LOVES to do. She loves her some cute little kids and teaching them to swim and compete in a pool. Pays pretty damn well too and she'll be off to college soon.
