    State swim meet time

Today is prelims day for the State Swim meet so am here cheering on my youngest son in his quest to make it to finals in the 100 butterfly.

Not sure if we parents are dedicated or just plain crazy but a number of us were here this morning at 6 AM waiting for the doors to open so we could get seats for all those coming to cheer on the team. Crazy part: doors didn't open until 10:15 and the parade of athletes doesn't start until 3:30 PM (another 47 minutes) with the swim events AFTER that!!

Our team is the defending state champs which is pretty cool considering only 4 years ago the team never won even a single meet all year long. They have come a LONG way!!

Cool stuff and I can totally relate! The art of laying out jackets and blanket and saving seats is stressful for me I hope they kick some ass!
If we all threw our problems in a pile, and you saw everyone else's problems-- you'd take yours back.

I sure hope for your sake and your sons it's an indoor pool, I know how rugged you ND dudes are.
Good luck to your son, times like this go by way to fast.
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

They had the boys on the blocks & had said "on your mark" and the next sound is usually the starting bell but this time, thanks to someone's flash photography, they were told to "stand up". Being more then a bit antsy he & another swimmer ended up on the pool. Though not a false start it rattled him. Did not make the top 16 cut.

    And the winner is Niner.

My son didn't make it past prelims but the team did and went on to become the State Champs. Way to go Patriots!
