Before the sheeit hit the fan.....

I knew another cold front was headed our way, so I hit the lake early, this morning.
Only got to fish about an hour before the wind and rain hit at a gazillion mph.
Only managed this small mess, but they are mighty tasty.
M-I-L even baked me a sweet tater pie for dessert.

BTW, Bucky, I told wifey about your idea of frying cut-up-biscuits in place of hush puppies.
She put her own spin on them, by flattening out two biscuits by hand, then pressed some chopped onion and bell pepper into them....then, she pressed the two biscuits together, and cut them into small sections, and rolled them in corn meal, then deep-fried 'em.
Pretty danged good idea, bubba. !!!

That's cool! I put out 60 square bales of hay in one of out lakes yesterday and try to fish for an hour or so. Only caught a few peckerhead bass. No crappie for me yesterday.

Going to do the same thing with that fubared pond, I told you about....problem is, my only hay supplier has sold all his cattle, and retired....I put the word out that I'm looking for hay, now.

Those "green carp" fry up mighty tasty, too, when they're small, like these, then, filleted and sliced into little fish-fingers.....at least, that's what the young'uns tell me....I eat the crappie.

I USED to would never even consider eating a bass.
Then last year one of my neighbor friends showed me how he fillets them and fries the fillets.
Man oh man, was I hooked then.

Can't wait to cull a few bass outta Lake Co9 this year and give them a hot-grease bath.
