I spent the better part of my day Saturday trying to fill my antelope tag. There is only one buck along with 20 does on the ranch I have permission to hunt. I chased him around all Saturday morning, but around 10 am I had to go help a friend cut some wood. After cutting wood I asked him if he would mind me doing a little fishing on his place. He was kind enough to grant me permission and I had a real fun half hour. The scenery alone was worth the price of admission.

Niner, does this bring back a few memories for you?

I caught this brownie right off the bat. A little skinny but a nice 18" fish.

Then I got this pig of a rainbow! He's what a I call a two-hand fish because you can't get one hand around him. What a hawg.

The last fish I caught was this beautiful 21.5" brown trout. If he would have had the girth of the rainbow I believe I would have had a new taxidermy bill. Check out the size of his tail, that sucker is wide!

After fishing I relocated the antelope buck along with his does. I never could quite close the gap enough and finally had to give up at dark. I burned a ton of calories hiking around after him, making stalk after stalk. It's just really hard to fool that many sets of eyes watching for you. Hopefully he stays on the ranch and makes a mistake. When he does I hope to be there. Stay tuned.
