    Found this link that you might want to look at for some good tips on how to clean up old cast iron pieces. The electrolysis method looks like the one that requires the least elbow grease.

    Somebody signed me up for a group on Facebook that collects cast iron and its really informative. Not sure who did it, but thanks!

    Yeppers, electrolysis is the way to go. I really should get more serious about my cleaning, but I'm lazy. I normally just wash 'em and oil 'em up, then leave the heavy work to the buyer. BTW, I read that site quite often. There's a world of information there.
