I've been trying to sight in a new .177 caliber air rifle. The rifle's is shooting reasonable groups for what it is. But, I can't seem to zero the scope in any closer than about 1" low and 1/2" left no matter how much I adjust the scope. Is the scope just a POC? Should I remount it and see if it'll adjust better? I've never had this problem before.

I had the same problem with the same type of rifle. I finally just took the POS scope off.
If we all threw our problems in a pile, and you saw everyone else's problems-- you'd take yours back.
Air rifles cant use regular gun scopes, someone told me.

It's likely a crap scope.
True, but it's holding zero and the iron sights are bigger pieces of crap.

Try cutting a shim out of an alumium can. Cut a piece about the width of the rings. Take off the scope and remount it with the shims inside the rings. This will give you a bunch more adjustment on the POS scope. This may or may not work, but its worth a shot.....so to speak.
F*^$)ing things are a PIA. I've gotten shanghaied in to sighting 4 of the damned things in. If you have it shooting good groups you are already ahead of the game. Usually takes a dozen different kinds of pellets to just to do that. You may want to look into a "droop compensating mount". Don't even really know what it does, but friend who is into springers said, "You don't want to be without one." Put one on and brought an RWS Diana grade springer right to its milk.

CD...Is this an AIR rifle (CO2, pneumatic, etc), or is it a spring-fired rifle????
Spring-fired. It's nothing fancy as I mostly bought it for Matt's science fair project. It was consistent enough for him to hit a 2" x 2" piece of ballistic jell out to 15 yards which was all he needed for the experiment. (Penetration was over 5" until he got to 15 yards.) The rifle advertises 1,200 feet/second so I figured I might have some fun shooting the varmints in the back yard and want to get it sighted in even better.
