    It begins..

Yesterday morning there were geese standing on the ice. Open today. Three bass, one 'gill and a dozen crappie..

If you turn a dog loose to hunt – you’d better to be ready to deal with what he trees.

Supposed to be in the mid-70s today.. I'm already tired of hot weather. Buddy and I are taking the wives this afternoon. Told them they have to catch enough for supper. Wind blowing into the same bank all day where I was catching them yesterday. A slip-bobber and jig should slay 'em. I hope. I'll probably throw the big flies more. Should be a couple big bass I this pond. 5-6 pounder is a ball on the 6 weight.

Bucky is correct on that one. I find they are just about as easy to catch, but since I don't like to eat them, and the limit is only 5, I put 99% of them right back in the water.

    Me either.

I can stomach 'em if FRESH (frozen trout are like frozen waffles), and gutted and deheaded, and then wrapped several inside a tightly wrapped alum foil with about a ton of real butter..........and grilled. If you can guess right and take them off grill just right time (hard to do), and if you had enough butter that they don't scorch, and if the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars, they are not bad that way.

I can't handle trout because they taste like fish! Lynn loves 'em though.

Took the wives out and they absolutely murdered them on ultralights and jigs. I played with the flyrod and quit counting @ 25. We kept a mess for supper and put the rest back. Always nice when the flesh is still quivering when you drop it in the grease.. Wow, I didn't read Fifty Shades.. is that description in there anywhere?

Are any of us really *here*? Does anyone really know what time it is?

and "Wives?? ... Fifty Shades?? ... Quivering flesh??" is an upshot from baseball posts.
