    Rain and Feesh....

We got our first sprinkle of rain in forever yesterday. Just enough to get me off the tractor and out at the pond. The fish were automatic. I literally were catching bream on every cast. I counted once and caught 4 slabs in one minute. I caught 50 bream and went in. Got out this morning and it's still too wet to do anything so I go fishing again. Caught 75 bream (one 11 inches long) 4 Crappie, 9 big catfish, and 11 bass. Threw back all the bass but kept the bream for a friend who just came and picked them up. image-1841224462.jpg

Given there's no red gill tab I'd have to go with bluegill. But since its name is Ruby there's no tellin'.

Can we just called them fish???
Cappy, nice hauling, hope I get that lucky tomorrow in Chester. Going to try my 2 man kayak that I haven't try since I bought like 2 years ago, 160 acre lake... we shall see.... Do you mind if I share the pictures in another forum I frequent? That 11 inches is going to freak out a few of the locals there.....

I just stopped by a buddy's pond and drug the 3 weight out from behind the seat. Tied on a #10 Chugger. Cast anywhere near the bank - it was an automatic bull bluegill. Anywhere 30 feet from the bank - it was a hen about to burst. Little bass (up to 2#) were chasing crappie fry near the stick-ups, so caught a few of them.

    Nice 'gills - nothing near 11" - that's a pig. Nice work.
If you turn a dog loose to hunt – you’d better to be ready to deal with what he trees.

Nandy, you are welcome to use any of those pictures. I think I sent you a clip yesterday of me catching 3 or 4 in a minute.
