the width of the truck shows it to be 76 to 77 inches wide but I would assume that is at the widest point which probably will not be the tires. Seems, if it fits, It will be a tight fit.
If the tires match the trailer specs there should not be any problem unless there is some rot or separation. Look at the tire date code, if the tires are older than 5 years they might have to be replaced regardless of how they look. The tire manufacturer might have better information on their own tire life expectancy but 5 years is the general rule.
If you coming anywhere near charlotte let me know.
Well........I'm coming real close to Charlotte! I'm investigating getting this thing to my grandson in Clover, SC. He thinks he wants it to restore, and I want it out of my hair at the farm. Transporting it is the issue. The tires are shot. But all I need is to get it on and off the trailer, after that, it's his problem!!!

Oh........as for the tires..........I meant, um.........I meant that the trailer tires are cheapo bias ply that came on the trailer. They're new, just not the top of line radial tires.
I meant the truck has POS tires.......but I don't want to drive it, just push it onto the trailer.
My question really is, will this trailer haul that size and weight for 850 miles?

You are not exceeding the trailer max so as long as the wheel bearing in both sides are ok, your electric/hydraulic brakes are fine and the rest of the trailer is in good condition I dont see why not....
Ah, they probably overengineer that stuff so it shouldn't be a problem.

Thump told me to tell ya that it's too bad it's not a Toyota. Otherwise you could'a drove it out there no problem.
Well, I need Cappy, Thump, or Ed to weigh in on this............

Is it a duel axle trailer Bucky?
A Government that pays people to do nothing destorys their willingness to do anything!
Yes. Dual axle, elec brake on one axle, 3500 lb axles (although the trailer specs said 7,700 lb..........that don't add up, does it?)......
The tires were original bias play el cheapo ST trailer tires. They're new, I got this in Spring. But still.........
I don't want to try it if I'm at top of limits............this trailer has to last me a lifetime of hauling the ATV.

As long as you are sure the bearing are well greased (read Bearing buddies) I really don't see where you should have a problem. Take a spare and a good jack and wrench and I think you will be just fine.
Just remember at every stop as soon as you get out of the truck to put your hands on the hubs and check for over heating. Warm is fine hot is not...
I would haul the truck with the motor forward towards to tongue of the trailer. (Don't back it on the trailer) That way most of the weight is on the front of the trailer and read of the truck.
With the truck you got I would not be afraid to make that haul. Just adjust your trailer brakes to help when coming off Black Mountain.

Oh geez. I forgot about the Smokies! ummmmmmmmmmmmmm.
If you say it will make it, I may very well go the southern route.........through Atlanta........ But boy, this will solve TWO big, huge problems for me. The boy wants it (you know him), which makes me happy to get my FIL's truck to him, and it keeps it in the family. Plus, it is the only source she'd let it go to. And it gets it out of my way in the farm garage! I guess that's more than two.........
Oh, and the truck I got isn't even a concern. I can pull the space shuttle that far, as far as the truck goes. It ain't like it's a Toyota or anything!

He says the same thing i did but now it is good and reliable information. Yup, 10 years down the road and nothing changes! lol!
Me thinks you are making a big thing out of nothing, just remember, NC max speed while towing is 55mp and your tires are probably rated to 65 mph. The tire rating will be in the sidewalls more than likely. Take it slow, enjoy the scenery.
good luck...
New dual axel trailer w/brakes, a 7000+ lb. rating and new tires. What are you worried about? What's the truck weigh, 5000? I think you're way too afraid of bias-ply tires for some silly reason. Pump 'em full'o air and hit the road. I remember all this fear-mongering during the big radial debate when you bought the trailer. As my SEAL buddy would tell you ... QUIT BRAIN-FUCKIN' IT TO DEATH AND JUST DO IT!!

Bucky. Take the steering wheel and any other part you want off that truck for your wife to "keep" and crush it.

You are talking to the wrong person about suggestions. Talk to the owner. I'm blue in the face from trying.

Pull it to the house. Sit it right in the front yard, pull the wheels off, fill the bed with dirt, and plant crepe myrtles In it. It'd make a nice, one of a kind "planter". Nah wait, never mind. You'd never trim them.
I don't own any crepe myrtles, so I wouldn't know.
And keep making suggestions. Just NOT TO ME! I was solely trying to follow through on the ONLY suggestion to get rid of it that, to this point, has been sanctioned. I didn't think of the idea.......I was just trying to make it happen.
I still might.
