Oil up 10% today.

I thought this was the second time this year that gas has dropped below 2 bucks ?
Still 2.30+ around here

2.35 here. that's up because of some purported refinery issue in Chicago.

I just filled up for $2.07 ... but I buy all my gas at Wally World and get a $0.05/gal discount ... so it cost me $2.02.

Yeah, ours has dropped $0.20 in the last two weeks, all the way down to $2.59 as of yesterday.
Lucky us. Too bad we aren't a bit closer to where the oil is extracted or refined...oh wait, we are.
Yep, this is the second gas price drop, but this beats the first price drop, at least around here....Thump, I use my 5 cent discount card at Wallyworld, too, but yesterday, an independent had opened a new convenience store/gas station, and was selling for $1.94....I'm sure it was to drum up his new business, and vehicles were lined up....this morning, every service station around here had dropped their prices, too, but not as low as the $1.94 guy.

We seldom see $2.00 in charlotte. $2.36 and I assume SC should be around $2.10. Im liking it, need me to find a couple of them 50 gal drums to store some when it hits under $2.00, lol!
We had gotten down to $1.89 earlier this summer, late spring, but had been around $2.29 until this last huge jump a couple of weeks ago, when it shot back up to $2.99. It's back down to around $2.45 now and dropping some each day.
The reason was given as a problem at the BP refinery in Whiting, IN and they had to shut it down until just a couple of days ago when they got everything running again.

Damned! I just filled up my Jeep in Pennsylvania for $2.89/g. It's a helluva lot cheaper here in NJ, even with full service. (There's only full service, which is nice).

Why only full service?

It's a law that was supported by gas stations a long time ago, the same gas stations that tried to repeal it recently. Two states, Oregon and NJ, require full service. I hated it when I first moved here, but now I love it; gas here is super-cheap anyway ($2.09 right now), because this is where the refineries are on the east coast.
This year they had a referendum to repeal the law, but it was defeated soundly. Nobody wants to pump their own gas anymore.
Here is a story about it: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/23/ny...d-to.html?_r=0
Across the river in Manhattan, gas is as high as $3.29 at the moment with their high gas tax. There are long lines off the major thoroughfares in NJ filled with New Yorkers. I guess that's what you get with unbalanced taxation.

Really?
Dang!

Is prostitution full-service up there to?
Airbud, I don't suppose there's too much of that around here. You'd have to go into Manhattan for that. I suppose they tax that, too.

Gas is 1.9ish in Jonesboro. I don't think we've had full service in 25 years .

We had full service........I remember it. I remember wood beds in pickups, 'Central' operator phones before dial, when TV came over the air and phones over wires, and when there were no Interstates, too!

I gotta tell you, it's nice. They don't expect tips either.

You don't remember the slogan to well. It's the "big bright Texaco star"

Going to full service gas stations in the Caribbean is always a fun adventure.
