Sorry, Phole, but I'm calling bullsheeit on liking summer, at least down here....I been right here over 65 years, and this is the hottest, driest, most miserably humid summer that I have ever witnessed....I think this is day #81 for us not receiving any decent moisture to speak of....my dogs have to jump across the cracks in my yard to keep from falling in....another 93 degree day, and no relief in sight.

    Come on cold weather!!!!!

I can always find more clothes to put on in cold weather....but, I can only remove just so much in hot weather....I'd go naked around here, if the church ladies wouldn't have me arrested.

Seriously, I wear shorts and t-shirts up 'til around Christmas....I shoulda been born in Alaska.

Well, I'd like to wear shorts year around. That's how much I love warn weather. I actually feel cheated this year, for June July and August we were slightly below average temps this year.

Screw summer. I'll take fall and spring over anything. Winter third. Summer is for the birds.

You'd be cooler if you didn't wear those long sleeve bowling shirts all the time.

It's only been too hot for me twice in my life, 1980 and 2010. Both of those were brutal !

I remember that summer of 1980 very well. I was fresh out of the Air Force and living in Richardson amd working in downtown Dallas. I had a 74 Dodge van that had no AC. We had 64 straight 100+ days in Dallas that summer. We wore suits to work in those days and I'd drive to work with no shirt on and get dressed in the van when I parked so I wouldn't soak through my shirt at 7:00 in the morning.

I caught more bass on the Arkansas River in the drought of 1980 than you can imagine. I found some pictures the other day. They didn't look like bass. The were literally the shape of footballs. Every one on a plastic worm. Wow, great times. I assume it was hot. I'm not sure, I was 32 at the time.

It 1980 I was hauling fertilizer from the river in a truck with no AC either. At the scales there, they had those over-head emergency showers, before heading back, I would douce down, and by the half way point ( about 50 miles) I would be totally dry . I also think that was the year we teal hunted right at 100 degrees .

September and October are why I put up with July and August. I've lived where there's year round summer and don't care for it.

Several places I've been that I couldn't deal with the weather at all............... First and foremost is Florida. Florida is just.......unbearable. Smelly, hot, humid, and too flat. Another is Minnesota. No thanks.
