Looks like spring is gonna kill me

Yesterday afternoon in the front yard of the SC farm. I counted 28 but there was more that flew off, and I was sorta busy trying to make a picture. I can see turkeys season looking very busy! image-970487422.jpg

You need to buy you a heavy duty stool at your next estate sale.

They bunch up like that here about October and stay that way throgh a lot of the winter. then in spring they bust up in smaller bunches. I used to see bunches of 150-200 birds on our deer lease during muzle loader season.

Did you know its possible to shoot a muzzle loader into a flock of 150 birds and not touch a feather?

Heck, I can shoot bird-shot through a 12 ga. into a flock and never touch a feather!

Looks like a good problem to have, we are having just the opposite one. One of the ranches we have hunted turkeys on for years I've been out to four times during the past month and I have yet to see a single turkey. As of now, the Missus is the only one in our family to have filled her fall turkey tag. The kids and I are a bit jealous.

Bwana, all that flocking we see in fall would end too if we opened up turkey fall season. In this area I think there are only 2 counties in NC that allows fall hunt....
