Gave up shooting "horns" years ago...

Most of my neighbors and the landowners I hunt on are "trophy" hunters.. I am now strictly a meat-hunter (love me some venison steaks) and could give a rat's ass about horns - so I just pass bucks. This year with the whole "eye" thing I was a bit concerned about the recoil of a slug gun so my buddy suggested I try his .44. Found I could hold it in my right hand and sight with my left eye.. Had four deer right in my lap but couldn't get a doe to hold still for anything..

oh well.. he'll make hambugger (sic)..
If you turn a dog loose to hunt – you’d better to be ready to deal with what he trees.

I'd be worried I'd have a knot on my forehead from the recoil of that thing!

    Nice buck!

Holy crap, he'd be a wallhanger next year!

Dude, seriously. Keep your eye on the prize. Wait, I believe you just did. Nevermind. Seems like it don't matter which eye you use, either!

Congrats Gene. That's impressive on several levels.

Gave up horns? Ha. I apparently gave up deer years ago!

From his bloody nose I'm figuring he shot him in the lights.

He lacked the height to score well.. I'm guessing a 3 1/2 year old.. He may have "blown up" in a year or two - but where we were hunting - they seldom get that old.
