Might be a good 'un, next year.....

Gonna save him for my grandson, maybe this weekend....the buck will be a nice bow-kill for him, and he better not get within 45 yards because grandson will make him DRT.
I took the pic, by holding my iphone up to the eyepiece of my spotting scope at about 300 yards....seemed to work pretty good.

Looks like good mass for a rack that size.

Cap, it's hard to see in the pic, but he has a weird muley-type G2 on his right side, which makes him a 9 pt.

I shot one this year with a muzzleloader that had that Mule Deer look on the same side.
I sure hope he gets him. I know you would both be proud.

Cap, that 4 month drought really affected the antler growth on our bucks, this year, as well as our fawn crop.

I'd drop either one of those'uns in a second!

Your grandson must shoot a lot to be lethal at 45 yards. I memmer the days when I could think about shots like that with a bow.
If we all threw our problems in a pile, and you saw everyone else's problems-- you'd take yours back.

Len, the boy is very disciplined, and passes up a lot of deer....and, he's a heck of a bow shot....when he's not on the football or baseball field, he's either got a bow or a ball in his hand.

He's barely picked up that new stainless Ruger .270 that I gave him about 5 years ago.

somewhere they sell phone holders that you can use to place the phone in the scope and in some instances get a better view... I have been tempted to buy one.

I dont think I would be too comfortable shooting deer too far with it, I guess you wold have to build up your butt stock so one could have enough eye relieve and good cheek weld. I remember a video of a guy shooting rabbits with one of those mounts and he had it down. I wonder how good they work on large caliber rifles...

Because my grandson already has his deer, and our deer numbers are drastically down, and I'm not shooting does. It probably won't matter but I'm doing my part best I can.
