I have that same reel. You will love it. It's really a joy to fish with.

Its taken me a year to pull the trigger on it. There's so many things I need for fishing, I just couldn't make a commitment until today.

Next up, a line counter reel combo.

    Haha, maybe in a year?

I hear ya, they don't exactly give those C14's away. I want to get one in a 3000 and one in a 1500. For now I'll just enjoy my 2500.

This one is a 1000. I have a 2500 regular old plain ass Stradic that I almost abandonded when I got my Symetre 1000 reels, I loved that size so much. I've caught everything from 9 pound walleye to 41 inch pike to 6.6 lb bass on them with no issues at all. They sure do bend and wobble on the rod when you're doing it though! I rediscovered that 2500 Stradic last year and have been wearing its ass out ever since. Now it'll get abandonded again for a while.

I stand corrected it's the 1000 that I want not a 1500. I run a couple different brands of reels and some designate their smaller reel as 1500 instead of 1000 or just plain old 10. I sort'a wish they would all just standardize their sizes.

Yeah, I have the 2500 and 1000 in C4i. The 1000 is on a 6' med-light fenwick HMS and it's just as sweet a setup as my 2500 on a 6'6" loomis bronzeback rig. You get in to an 18" smallie in current with that thing and you better hold the fuck on.

also... a 1/4 jighead will cast approximately 42 miles

Others would call it luck. (He's double lucky I wasn't there to out-fish him)

Now THAT'S how you christen a reel!

I actually had a similar experience with my small stradic. Must be the extree $30 advantage!

I'd pay $30 to catch that fish again. She jumped on that little spinner bait like a mountain lion on a baby goat. And then she proceeded to kick my ass. At least for a bit she did.
