    Chuck and duck..

Wind wouldn't give up (25 sustained and gusts forever).. But - if I could hit the water, I could catch a fish. Gave up counting crappie and bass.; even have a mild case of bass thumb.

These are my "truck rods" a 6 and a 3 weight Cabela's Three Forks. I have "better" rods but these catch most of the fish because they ride behind the seat of the truck as long as there is open water. Caught crappie until I lost count. Like they were poured out of a mold; almost all 13".

    Was a bit disgusted - couldn't catch a bass over 2#. Then I got "well". 21"

Are your water temps as far ahead of schedule as ours? We saw purt near 60 degree water last Friday.

Actually - we're still cold.. 41 dby (saw 44 in the shallows).. That should start to change this week. 61 at 5:00 this morning and looking at 60s most of the week.

Our night time temps have been in the upper 50s and 60s the past week. Hell we've had the house open for the past four or five days. Usually I don't open it up till mid April.
I'm wondering if we ain't in for an Easter snowstorm. We really haven't had a winter here this year.

I know one thing: Birddog and I are gonna hit the brushpiles we found on Lake Oolagah last week just as soon as we can. The crappies are already in 8-10 foot of water.

I'm considering contacting the Arkansas game and fish about stocking Lake St Augustine (formerly known as my front yard). I was thinking bream and white perch, what you fellers think, maybe bass too?

Damn! I get a creek running through mine every one in a while. But, at least that has the courtesy to dry up once it stops raining.

From the looks of that pic ... seems like the water would run off pretty dang quickly! Kinda like a waterfall.

No place for it go Jimbo. We've had 10-12 inches since Tuesday night. Water backed up in the manholes so the toilets won't flush and bathtubs won't drain. Now eddies getting a dose of it. The folks in Shreveport (40 miles south)have water six foot in their homes. They've got around 20 inches and are still getting hammered

Ha ha ha! It was my feeble attempt at a joke about the orientation of the pic. Ok, ok ... it sucked. I'll try to do better next time.
