    Bigger is Better

I guess bigger is better. Well at least it is what I prefer when if comes to trout fishing. Here's a teaser from a recent trip. If it looks dark and cold, well that's because it was. Wind was howling, snow was flying, and the standing temp was 26 degrees. I have no idea what it was with the wind chill, but it was plenty cold. There wasn't any snow on the ground when I arrived all that snow in the photo fell after we got there. Most folks have enough sense to stay inside in such weather, but I don't do well inside. The fish were there and therefore, so was I. Caught a bunch more very good sized fish, but I seem to be wearing out my welcome here with fish pics judging by the lack of response. Therefore, I won't bore you with a bunch more pics for now.

We got the same wonderful weather here but I am stuck at work which really sucks.

Heading to the in-laws this weeks and though the m-i-l has plans for us to help work on the barn, I'm hoping the flying livers around to put a sneak on though with the migration going on the past two weeks I'll be surprised if they aren't already in Canada.

    Congrats on the fishy.

Absolutely no way that is true. I examine every detail of ALL of your pics. Are you SURE you work for a living?

I guess what it boils down to is (once we finish staring at your pics with envy), how many times can one say, "Beautiful fish ... fugly dude holdin' it!"?

Chicken Dinner, I know right. I thought I'd try and make Bucky happy, but he will likely complain about my hat not matching. It's my lucky hat so there is no compromise there!

One of the prettiest colored fish of the day. The sun peeked out for like 10 minutes and I was actually able to get decent light for a photo. This was one stocky fish.

    Those are some beasty troutages!

In other news, I got a reply back directly from Trevor on which maraboo jigs to use for smallies around my parts.

Len, Trevor and his dad Kit are top drawer type of people. If you ever wander out West they would be worth your time and money to book a day trip with for trout, or a walleye/smallie trip. They know their stuff.

Speaking of Bucky, where's he been?

He's around some and is pretty good about responding to emails. Just not posting much for a variety of reasons.
