We need a fishing forum here.

Gots a sale this weekend just walking distance from my house (literally). Looks like youse fishing types could have a field day here. LOTS of early, collector lures, but here are a few "overall" shots. This is just a fraction of what's there, I saw a bunch of loose reels, a ton of full tackle boxes, etc. I think the guy was a "fishing stuff" hoarder!

It will sound smartassholish but my first thought at reviewing the stuff in those pics was 'Maybe in the 80's it was good stuff'. Then I zoomed in and I need to recalibrate that to the 70's.

But that's cool. Might be some good stuff in there if you dig.

It was the dacron net that did it.

I had one of those. In the 70's AND 80's until I got ridiculed so much I bought a rubber one.

I had a tacklebox full of lures that my grandfather gave me in the late 50's or very early 60's (he died in '64). Heck, they were OLD then. I saw a ton of lures just like 'em at this sale. Mostly Heddons if you're into that sort of stuff. I hardly even look at the fishing stuff actually. I'll occasionally pick up a decent reel for resale if it's still in the box ... and/or exceptionally clean.

That guy did what I've done several times. Head to the bait store without your cricket box. And up buying a new one at the store
