    Okay Social Media Butterflies

WTF is a 'poke' on Facebook? Somebody 'poked' me and I don't know what ettiquette requires of me. is an acknowledgement of some sort required?
If somebody poked at me in real life, I'm apt to tell them to fuck off, friend or foe.

Largely I guess it'd depend if a stick was involved with the poke.

What a stupid gesture. (the FB poke)

I poked a few southern girls when I was in college. Other than that, I've got noting.

Occasionally - as I understand it - facebook "suggests" that people "poke" you (you won't see this post). Especially happens if you aren't on for a few days. Can mean "hello".. or "reply to my pm" - Near as I can tell - it don't mean a dam thing. I ignore them.

Odd you should mention this. Just last week I noticed I had a "poke" ... from something like a year ago! I have no clue what it means ... but evidently, I missed the whole point anyway.

It's for kids back when Fuckerberg was trying to lure them all in. Ignore it.
