    Line counter combo recommendation

My dad's 70th birthday is around the corner so am trying to figure out what to get a gent who pretty much has everything he wants except for a mule deer hunt which is above my set limit. Anyway last night my wife says, what about a line counter rod and reel? Not a bad idea but I don't have a clue what a good brand/model to look for. This unit will be used for walleye fishing so pulling cranks and bottom bouncer rigs will be it's duty.

Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?

Bwana, my caveat is I haven't used it yet, but I picked up this Cabela's combo earlier this year. The reel feels really solid and I've had good luck with other Daiwa products in the past. There are several rods to choose from depending on your preference.

Mine were Diawa, but bigger than you want, You may have used similar ones the time you salmon fished out of Wisconsin.
I never had a lick of problems with them either.
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me
