Just got word that the ND Game and Fish is drawing the names of 7 lucky names out of the 10,380 applicants for their once-in-a-lifetime bighorn sheep tag.

My wife's cousin drew a tag years ago and I was lucky enough to tag along. The second day of the hunt we located two rams about 1.5 miles away and against the advice of the rest of our party and the local sheep expert, I pushed him to follow me in an attempt to get within range before we lost shooting light. It took a bit of convincing and some serious oxygen sucking but I got him to within roughly 275 yards in time for him to fill his tag on a nice 3/4-curl ram. Carrying that thing off of the butte in the dark, whole so it could be skinned out for a full-body mount, took a bit of doing but we got it done.
