    Dreaming of a WET Christmas......

Blast this goofy weather down here! Was plenty cold all last week and NOW a heat wave and fog and rain. Not that I'm bitching about the gift of rain....Lord knows we need it....just the timing kinda sucks. They're even talking about TORNADOES!

I guess ol' Rudolf will need a Q-beam strapped on his nose tonight....

Coweta Weather: Fog possible tonight, strong storms expected late Christmas

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says that the formation of widespread fog is a possibility tonight for most of North and Central Georgia, including Coweta County.

Fog conditions will be dependent on the amount of wind in the area. Presently, calm winds are forecast overnight in Coweta County which could result in dense fog.

NWS is also warning of a strong storm system approaching Georgia late Christmas Day (Tuesday). A cold front is moving west to east into Georgia and the instability and vertical wind shear will be enough for isolated severe thunderstorms to develop.

Those severe storms will be mainly across the western edge of Georgia between 3 a.m. late Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The main concerns will be isolated tornadoes as well as strong, damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

The present NWS forecast for Newnan and Coweta County on Christmas Day calls for occasional rain, with thunderstorms possible after 1 p.m. Expect a high of around 61 with calm winds becoming Southeast at 5 mph. The rain chance is 100 percent with amounts between 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.
On Christmas night, again a 100 percent chance of rain – some severe – with a low of 48. Southeast winds at 10-15 mph, gusting to 25.

And on Wednesday, a 50 percent chance of rain before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 51. Southwest winds 10-15 mph, then increasing to 15-20 mph in the afternoon.
My "disability" does not make me "disabled".

Stay warm around the fire and hope it just passes over.
We will have a white Christmas this year, have about a foot on the ground now and flurries the next couple of days.
Temps in the 20's so a fire feels good.
Merry Christmas to you and yours, glad you're feeling better.
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

The problem with giving weather forecasts by COUNTY in Georgia is that each of them only cover 4 square miles!!!
WARNING - Due to the rising costs of ammunition, warning shots will no longer be given.
