I’ve not fished for these myself but it looks like a lot of work. Still, to catch a world record and miss it because of a c&r regulation would be a big bummer.

Viva Renaldo!
When I was a kid there was a fish market over on the Red river and and they sold Spoonbill. My grandpop used to buy it when he came to visit and it was larrupin good with fries and fish gravy
I was raised on Spoonbill and Buffalo ribs
I've caught them and they are blast to catch. I know Bwana has caught at least one because he was with me when he did it. That would be a bummer to not get recognized for a world record catch though.
They certainly are a blast to have on the end of your line but couldn't tell you if they taste good as I'm allergic to fish. That being said, everyone who tried the one Troy led me to thought it was just dandy.
That old picture of the two of us toting out that fish via a big ol' piece of driftwood is still on my electronic picture frame. Good memories!
Sounds like some great memories!

And then my host outdid me with an even bigger fish.

Wow. Awesomeness! A couple of whippersnappers!
This needs to go in the GH Fishing Forum HOF.

Bwana looks like he's about 16 years old in that pic!

Saw that thing, it looked like a shark. This is the biggest thing I ever caught and it plumb wore me out.
