I haven't heard this on before.....

Jim Cantore coined a new phrase, today.....at least, I haven't heard it, previously.....he's referring to Laura, who has jumped to a Cat 4, and she looks real mad and real mean.....not as big as Katrina, but packing winds like Rita, which followed Katrina about a month later on Sept. 24, 2005.

I just watched the weather and it looks like you’re in that 7-8” of rain band. Of course a lot will depend on how long it takes to get to that level.

TBH, we need some rain.....nothing in the range of 7-8 inches, but 2-3 inches would be just right, and fill up the cracks.

We really need some rain too. All of the hickory trees on my property are already dropping leaves and the lake where I keep my boat is so low that I can barely get it off of the boat lift if there are more than a couple of people in the boat. The weeds aren’t even growing in my yard so the nice thing is I can’t remember the last time I had to mow.

We don’t need any, probably averaging about an inch or more a week all summer but it doesn’t look like I have any say in the matter

In 2005 Katrina's storm surge caused the MS River at NOLA to flow backwards.....well, it's flowing backwards, tonite, at the hands of Laura.

I'll second that. Hard to believe some of the things these types of storms can do!
