    Vette pic

A while back we talked about Corvettes and some pics were posted with some of the ugly paint jobs on some that were Indy pace cars. Here is the one for this year. Opinions?

I like the mid-engine look of the C8 but rumor is they are going back to the front engine design. I'm not really sure why because they came in at a pretty competitive price point and they've been backordered forever. My guess is there are significant issues with them but I don't kow that.

After owning my BMW Z4 for 17 years, last fall I started looking for a Vette, wanted a 2015 or newer as I like their newer look.
Found a few but soon discovered I had a really hard time getting in and out of them.
6'5", over weight, old man with some arthritis, so I had a change of plans.
I also started to hear them called "belly button cars" as every old man had one.
Ended up with this, 2010 Jaguar XK Portfolio Convertible, great car, fits me and my purposes , should be the last summer car I'll need.
Hardest part so far is keeping my foot off the gas pedal, 385 hp, 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, never had a car that would do that,

The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

I went through the mid-life crisis thing and bought a '98 Vette, paid it off with a 60-month loan and immediately bought an '03 (50th Anniversary Model). Like you Bubba, I had a heck of a time getting in and out of them, but after a few years with the '03, I got it out of my system. I think I traded it on a new Toyota Sequoia. They are fun cars (had the '03 up to 187mph one day on the toll road here in town) and a total BARGAIN when priced against anything else in it's category, but I'm just too old and decrepit for toys like that these days.

Deppity, I LOVE the look of the new 'Vette, but have never liked the Indy "rolling billboard" look, no matter how it's laid out.

Last good looking 'vette was the C6. After that they looked like trashy copies of an Italian supercar, IMHO. Ugly. That Jag has really sweet lines. Jaguar styling, to me anyway, was always kinda 'organic' for lack of a better word. Flowing, smooth lines. Beauty.
