    Rittenhouse Trial

Anyone else paying a little attention this? I might find it a bit more interesting just because of the significant looting and rioting in Seattle being a bit closer to home. I personally just stayed away from downtown Seattle and would prefer to avoid trouble but I remember when it happened from the little I saw of the video I thought he'd get off. It was pretty unclear what started it, but it was pretty clear in the video the final two were chasing Rittenhouse. Chasing a man with an AR15 seems to fall into the play stupid games win stupid prizes category.

I haven’t followed it too closely but saw where evidence was presented that he had been shot at before he started shooting.

If that’s true, it’s pretty obviously self-defense, now it just depends on whether or not the jury does what’s right or gives in to the pressure of violence if he gets off.

I saw that part too, although I don't think they are sure whether he was shot at or just a shot went off - this is the first person shot. I think the other two, who were chasing Rittenhouse, which being chased in a large group I think the defense can prove he reasonably felt the need to defend his life.

I can't figure out at this point why we're even having a trial. Every person the prosecution puts on the stand seems to make the defendants point. Grosskuertz (who had his bicep shot) forgot to mention that he indeed also had a gun and pointed it at Rittenhouse, and then was shot....just a minor detail. Video shows Rossenbaum (who just got out of the looney bin) chasing Rittenhouse.

I've intentionally avoided keeping up with it till yesterday when I read up on it.. What a mess.

At least he's finally getting his day in court. Just saying....

I'm not even sure, based on what I've seen, how this made it to trial.

It looks like the prosecution is trying to lose this case. If it’s not intentional, then they’re pretty incompetent. How could they not know that their own witness would testify that he had a gun and was advancing on Rittenhouse and that Rittenhouse didn’t fire on him until he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse.

I know some people that still think he's a cold blooded murderer. Facts are mean and my feelings matter!

I saw where celebrities were saying white privilege and fake tears. I'd say if if anybody knows privilege and fake it would be celebrities. Their whole damn life is privilege and fake, they ought to be experts

Let's see, a 17 year old is chased and attacked three times on video, kicked and beaten with a skateboard threatened at gunpoint and when he defends himself then he's the bad guy?

Let me warn all you would be thugs, if it had been me you'd have never laid a hand on me before the shooting started. Maybe I would have gone to prison and then again in Arkansas it may have been ruled "They needed killing".

And it wouldn't have been a rifle, home defense at my house is a pump shotgun with heavy load #4 shot.

Hell in a handbasket my friends hell in a handbasket

I’m right there with you, but my home defense pump is loaded with 00-buck. Lots of argument on home defense loads and both have pros & cons, but I just like the sound of saying, “double-aught buck”. (I like lots of “big” holes but 000 is too hard to find)

The only reason this kid is on trial is because he used one of those scary black guns on some “mostly peaceful” protesters.

The prosecution knew that he had been chased, physically attacked, had a gun pointed at him, and an attempt was made to disarm him. All before he pointed his rifle at them let alone started to fire at them.

"Chased and attacked". That's what gets me. Don't chase down your own beating comes to mind.

With the video evidence, I’m not even sure why there’s a trial in the first place.

It won’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Heck, the Libs are already attacking the judge as being incompetent.

If anyone involved in that trial was incompetent it was the Prosecutor.
