I’m just going down for the race. We always have a big group at the house to hit the lake for the rest of the weekend.

I’m hoping that the weather cooperates this year.

Enjoy! It’ll be Foyt and Parnelli Jones on the backstretch at the end.

My buddy that always goes with me has his cousin from California coming with us this year. It will be his first 500.

It definitely was. The four hour rain delay really sucked though. Made for a very long day. We usually just drive down and back every year. Since my friend’s cousin was going I wanted to make sure he got to see all of the pre race stuff and have a chance to look around the track. We were on the road by 6AM and were at the track by 9:30 for an expected 12:45 start. It was just about midnight when we finally got home.

They did some of the pre race including the laps by the old race cars then because of lightning they wanted the grandstands cleared then the big storm came through. I thought they did a really good job of getting the track dry quickly.

Once the race got underway it was a really good one.
