Delta Dufus
A little winter-time project....
I rough-cut this piece of pecky cypress from a 40 foot long log that has been half floating and half sunken in a slough on my place for at least the past 50 years.
When I was just a kid, my buddies and I used it to float on, around the slough, because none of us knew how to swim.
Before it sank completely, I figured I would bring it ashore, and make good use of it.
I estimate the Choctaw cypress log to be about 200 years old.
This piece is only half the diameter of the entire log.
I'm going to make a table out of this piece of it, but want to keep the rough-hewn look to it.
