In my local newspaper, yesterday....Robert Raben, a civil rights radical with close ties to Rep. Barney Frank(Dem.-Mass.), is coming here to attempt to change the name of our county to "Fannie Lou Hamer County"....sure, she made a name for herself here, during the civil rights era, but can you imagine the tremendous logistical expense of doing this???....a world-class museum is already planned for her in the north end of the county.

I'm in Polk County named after James K. Polk (11th President). But, we may be in trouble, the county seat is Bartow (15 mins south of me) named after Francis S. Bartow, the first Confederate officer to die in battle in the Civil War.
