In Memphis, I knew BJ (Billy Joe) Thomas. I know, I know, but I really did. He was a regular customer along with his brother Jerry. (I talked with them often)
(Note: I edited out the "personal" details about Jerry. I thought it may have been a bit inappropriate)
I have a friend of 25 years here locally, (female) who goes by BJ. Her name is Billy Jean, but in all the years I've known her, I've never known anyone to address her as such.
