Your family will fight over these....

    .
Wife made this recipe, and it's easy and the real deal:

CINNAMON SUGAR GLAZED PECANS OR ALMONDS

    (makes 4 servings)

    Ingredients

    1 pound almonds (and/or pecans)
    1/3 cup butter, melted
    1 cup sugar
    4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon salt
    2 egg whites
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Directions:

Preheat the oven to 250º F.
Beat the egg whites with a dash of salt until frothy. Gradually add the sugar and vanilla extract and continue to beat until the whites begin to form stiff peaks. Gently fold in the almonds and cinnamon.
Place the melted butter in a large mixing bowl and stir the almonds into the butter, coating them.
Transfer the almonds to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in oven and bake for 1 hour, stirring them every 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely.

I'll try these! I'm a nut nut. One of my favorites is to just layer some pecans on a cookie sheet and toast them in the oven at about 350. When they're ready, just take them out and squirt honey over them while they're still hot, them let 'em cool and scrape them out of the pan into a bowl and man they are some kind of good. you can add a little kosher salt before they cool and that makes them almost a sin.

I love green tomato pickles and fried green tomatoes are to die for, but I've got NO use for a red ripe tomato! Hate them more than any common food.

Those "PEA khans" look really good. There is only 1 pie that's better than a "PEA khan" pie, and that is a Sugar Cream pie!

Airbud's pronunciation link above is the CORRECT way to pronounce Puh-kahn. Only Yankees call 'em Pee-cans.

Airbud, a 'mater sammich was one of my dad's favorites. The only sammich he liked better was a peanut butter & banana sammich!

And Cappy ... there's sumpin' wrong with you boy! Who the heck doesn't like nice red 'maters.

White bread, homegrowns, Dukes mayo, salt and pepper.

I could live on those and not feel slighted.
