Let's just put it this way .... with my travels, I can pretty much say I've probably eaten BBQ of every style from every state in the country. I could probably be considered a BBQ connoisseur! Some are my personal favorites, others not so much, but as P-hole eluded to, I don't think I've ever met a BBQ sammich I didn't like. And, I'll start another argument, or maybe even touch off a small war of opinions ... many times, the sauce is what makes the sammich. This could easily morph into ribs and crank up the old sauce vs. dry rub controversy ... a whole 'nuther argument.
But, maybe we are arguing about apples and oranges anydamnway. This Arby's thing is technically a dang thick-cut bacon sammich that's been bastardized with BBQ sauce. WTF?

Technically, bacon is cured and then smoked and pork belly doesn't have to be. Not sure how Arby's does their sandwich. But, I wouldn't put screwing up something as awesome as pork belly. I'll let others explain to you why you're a BBQ Cossack. But, if you think the sauce makes he sandwich (and not the smoke and rub), I can't help you. Hell, you probably like Liquid Smoke in your food and sleep with cats...dde40

Opinions are like ass-holes.
As for liquid smoke, I don't think so. I have in un-written rule, if a BBQ joint ain't gots no smoke billowing out'ta the place, I don't stop.
I used to say the same thing about chain bbq restaurants, but Billy Sims BBQ is probably the one we patonize the most when we're looking for fast food for dinner.
they have a baked potato salad that is really good too.

Yep, we have a local chain called "Sonny's" that's about as good as they get (they have an open pit). My favorite local go-to place is a mom & pop joint called Granger's. It's owned by a guy named Granger Noles, who coincidentally is a HUGE Florida Gators fan and caters at many of the Gators games. He does catch hell for his name though, especially at a Gators/'Noles game! But, there's also a Sonny's about 10 mins. from here and I have no problem eating there even though it's a chain.

As far as chains go I like Sunnys and Sticky Fingers!
