That's just like the democrat were against freeing slaves the they started the KKK, then one day they figured out there was a ton of votes there (Black folks) and they started buying them through welfare programs.
Old Bill and the democrats were similarly against the illegal immigrants, until one day they figured out there was a potential for a large block of voted. So the give away programs started towards them.
