    Well, that sucks big weenies.

The Pioneer Cabin Tree in Northern California was toppled by that big storm that hit this weekend. I have a pic around here someplace that I took as Lynn drove through it in her brand new BMW (her 27th birthday present). We took a road trip from L.A. to Seattle in 1985 and a drive through the tree got checked off a box on our bucket list. Dang ... that tunnel was cut in the 1880's.

Because of the huge cut is why it fell.

I'm sure that was a factor ... but it stood that way for almost 140 years.

They live to be 3000 years old...that one only made it to 1100/1200 years old before falling over.

All the other trees around it are alive and well...I hope you find your picture!...Maybe they will cut a big azz hole in the one next to it and shorten its life by 1800/1900 years.

What if the old tree put a Curse on everyone that took a picture of it?
    What you gonna do then?

    Airbud,

Too obvious. You gotta work on subtlety and the timing of when to insert your comment is critical.

This is like throwing a worm on a hook with a 3 foot wide bobber and 1.5lb weight and wondering why all the bluegill scattered
If we all threw our problems in a pile, and you saw everyone else's problems-- you'd take yours back.

Yea LJ...should I have waited till he responded to 1st sentence then went for the kill?

I'm learning new stuff every day though/taking notes too...

Edit: Hey LJ...you think I should go back and edit it before thump reads it?....what you think? timing is crucial here!

Nope, too late ... you already stepped on your pecker anyway. Along with SD'er practice ... you need some lessons on reading comprehension.

    I said,
... it stood that way for almost 140 years
I never said the tree was "only" 140 years old. The tunnel was carved 140 years ago. I seriously doubt they cut that thing as a seedling.

    See my first post:
.... that tunnel was cut in the 1880's.

Here's something that takes YEARS to earn!

I have a picture of that in 1962 when me and 3 buddies went to the Seattle Worlds Fair.
They still should be able to get some great redwood out of that stump.
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

I think there's an SD'er wannabe who's doing some creative editing.

Yep i saw that on another post too.

Airbud, we're demoting you back for remedial training. Before you can attempt to disturb our shit around here, you need to make a few laps around the nearest cow pasture and kick over a few thousand real turds. Then you'll be ready to TRY to keep up with the pros from Dover.
