    Easier said than done with a redear. Them buggers have a tendency come up underneath the bait and swallow it all way up to the splitshot. You don't even know he's there until your cork is laying on it's side. At that point, I just wrap the line around my hand and snatch his gizzard out and chunk him in the cooler

    My old buddy, Mick Thill, (long story) would tell you.. (insert British accent) "That's what comes from improper weighting of your float." I've fished with him. I wouldn't argue with this guy about "floats" .. Kevin Van Dam is well known name in the U.S. - Mick Thill is the best known fisherman in the *world*..
